12:54 'And the King said, "Bring him to me, that I might reserve him exclusively for myself," Then when he had spoken with him, he said, "Truly this day thou shalt be of high rank and trusted in our presence."
The context here is that Prophet Yusuf was saved from the well after his brothers left him for dead. After which he was accused of attempted assault on the viziers wife and imprisoned! π However, he held on to his truth and his faith and preferred imprisonment over sin. π©·
The king then asks to see Prophet Yusuf and is so impressed with him that he gives him a high station. He was revered all over the land and eventually his brothers came to him for help and support. What a deliverance! β¨π
So...
1. What is the key moral of this story?
2. What is the take away for me personally?
3. Where am I speaking and don't need to.
4. Where am I not speaking and probably should.
5. Where am I listening intently.
6. Where do I need to listen more.
7. What am I reaching for?
8. Where am I stuck?
9. What is my ultimate manifestation for this life?
Yesterday we were watching a documentary on King Tutankhamen and the narrator shared that the King's wanted their name to be known and the craved fame and fortune. Tutankhamen ironically had a very small burial site in comparison to his equal counterparts which was a way of diminishing him. However 3000 years later he is so well known and is in many ways the face of Egypt. π€
In some ways fame and/or fortune is not in our hands. The fame and/or fortune of this life is easily tied up with ego and can take us off centre. Fame and/or fortune is a gift with responsibility. π and in many ways the way to attain recognition is simply to do what you do and to keep on doing it. π©·πππ©΅β€οΈπ©·π
A visual - imagine we are walking down a very, very long road where we can't see the end. Imagine on either side of that road are shiny objects which we can see. They're beautiful objects and for our pleasure and that's great. If we spend too much time on one particular shiny object we can get stopped, come off, get lost on our journey. So what we do is centre each day on the ultimate destination so that along the way we are able to be more balanced on that journey because no shiny object can take us off course and at the same time each shiny object we choose is justly honoured. Perhaps that's also why Salaah is 5x a day,and understanding our prayer in our own language reminds us of our ultimate destination. The more we love shiny objects the more we need to commit to Salaah. (guilty π¬).
So Prophet Yusuf was delivered while in this realm π such is Allah's mercy and the ability of Prophet Yusuf to endure his trials and gain the love of Allah SWT.
May we all thrive in our purpose, be regarded by those we love, endure with grace and attain the love of Allah SWT. Ameen thum Ameen. π
