93 Surah Duha - The Morning Brightness
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
'By the morning brightness, and by the night when still, thy Lord has not forsaken thee; nor does He despise. And the Hereafter shall be better for thee than this life. And surely thy Lord shall give unto thee, and thou shalt be content. Did she not find thee an orphan and shelter, find thee astray and guide, and find thee in need and enrich? So as for the orphan, scorn not. And as for one who requests, repel not. And as for the blessing of thy Lord, proclaim!'
94 Surah Sharh - Expansion
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
'Did We not expand for thee thy breast, and lift from thee thy burden that weighed heavily upon thy back? And did We not elevate thy renown? For truly with hardship comes ease! Truly with hardship comes ease! So when thou art free, exert thyself; and let thy desire be for thy Lord.'
If and when there is tension and discomfort recite and reflect on these words. The two surahs come together for a reason. π©·
God says, βI am as My slave thinks I amβ¦β
We sometimes project our experience of people who held positions of power in our lives as children on to God. That same feeling we get when we think of people in a more serious/superior position is the feeling we often project onto God. It's so visceral and subconscious that we sometimes don't even realise that we are doing that. We have to resolve our feelings around people who held/hold authority over us. Whatever those feelings might be.
Just bringing our attention and light to the dynamic can begin to shift the paradigm for us. It can release the narrative and leave space for us to create a new way of being. That new way of being can open up our relationship with God. π©·
