40:78 'Indeed We have sent messengers before thee. Among them are those whom We have recounted unto thee, and among them are those whom We have not recounted unto thee. And it was not for a messenger to bring a sign, save by God's Leave. So when God's Command comes, judgement is passed in truth; and those who make false claims will then be losers.'

There are 26 messengers mentioned in the Qur'an. Islamic tradition holds that there were 315 messengers (rasul) and 124,000 prophets (nabi). We have all been guided to the truth. Over and over again God has told us the parameters of human living and the core of so much of it is to never yield to the lies of the ego and to protect and care for others. How is it that they forget? How is it possible to get that twisted?

So, how is it then that they claim the lives of so many using the name of religion?

- Dehumanisation - calling them animals and names. Like they don't matter.

- Projection - passing your own ills and inadequacies onto them to as to avoid dealing with what you have become.

- Arrogance - hiding your true insecurities and shame with a lie that places you above others.

- Greed - wanting more for yourself at the expense of others.

- Cowardice - not being able to fight like for like, rather attacking the defenseless.

- The Agentic State - pretending that you did it because someone influenced you to do it.

- Diffusion of responsibility - assuming this is someone else's responsibility.

- Social identity theory - assuming the identity of the group - we are perpetrators and we will perpetrate.

Satan will say to the disbelievers after God's decree has passed.

'Verily, God made you the Promise of truth; and I made you a promise but I failed you. And I had no authority over you, save that I called you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me, but blame yourselves. I cannot respond to your cries for help; nor can you respond to my cries for help. Truly I disbelieved in your ascribing me as a partner aforetime' 14:22

When despair hits and your heart breaks and hardens through fear and grief remember -

10:105-109 'and "Set thy face toward the religion as a hanif (believer), and be thou not among the idolaters (worshiping idols - perhaps including money, status, likes, looks, popularity). And call not, apart from God, upon that which neither benefits thee, nor harms thee. For if thou dost so, thou shalt surely be among the wrong-doers."' And if God should touch thee with affliction, none can remove it save He; and if He desires some good for thee, none can hold back His Bounty. He causes it to fall upon whomsoever He will among His servants. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. Say, "I mankind! The Truth has come unto you from your Lord. Whosoever is rightly guided is only rightly guided for the sake of his own soul, and whosever is astray is only astray to its detriment. And I am not a guardian over you." And follow that which has been revealed unto thee, and be patient till God renders judgement, and He is the best of judges.'

Worship in the darkness of the night so you may know yourself. So when the misleaders come in your midst a veil is cast over you to protect you from their charms. Stand tall so that you may represent those who are your true brothers and sisters.
