Tea Stories: whentheywakeupwithyou-tea 🇵🇸🕊️🦋☝🏼☕🫖👶🏽🐿️

For days now I have been seeing 9:11 over and over again. So, here we are.

Bismillah hirahma niraheem

9:11 'But if they repent, and perform the prayer and give the alms, then they are your brethren in religion. And We expound the signs for a people who know.'

SubhanAllah!!!

The context is that the Qur'an is referring to those who 'have sold the signs of God for a paltry price, and have turned from His way.' They are committing evil! Their kinship or any treaty with believers is transgressed.

And yet Allah SWT reminds us that if they repent, they pray and give alms then they are given a blank slate. Another chance. Perhaps we are all focusing on the people who are doing mean things. Maybe there are many who want to become brethren.

We can easily adopt a blanket response to what we are seeing unfold and that would be incorrect. Allah SWT says if someone repents then allow them the space to start over. That does not mean they are in your space if that's too difficult; just that we don't take away their clean slate.
